The first project for Tamara Thomas Dance will be a presentation of work in an evening length sharing titled “Overcoming Inertia”.  The presentation will include a post-show talk back as well as a lecture demonstration for the youth.

Overcoming Inertia is a statement of current and past experiences that uses West African, Modern, Hip-hop, Jamaican Folk and Dancehall to speak about topics such as human value, ancestral reverence, vital love, and perseverance in the face of adversity.  It proves to be an exciting and necessary project as there is a need for fresh new voices that are not afraid to speak from the margins.

Please join Tamara Thomas Dance in the presentation of “Overcoming Inertia” on Friday July 5 and Saturday July 6 at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts – School of Dance in Kingston Jamaica.
